Barnstock: The History
In the summer of 2009, Miles Brown and friends were looking for a place where their band could rehearse without creating a ruckus. It started in a spare room and moved quickly to the Brown family’s barn, where musicians and fans could make as much noise as they liked. People began to come and check out the music and BARNSTOCK was born.
Miles quickly realized that the barn had potential and the first year of BARNSTOCK in 2009 drew 300 people. In 2010, the concert exploded and 500 or more festivalgoers attended, and in 2011, the 3rd edition of BARNSTOCK attracted 800 revellers. In the most recent BARNSTOCK over 1,200 attended throughout the two day festival. While BARNSTOCK continues to grow, its values remain the same, good music, a festive setting and service to the surrounding community.
BARNSTOCK is about the local community. In four years BARNSTOCK has raised more than $22,000 for its selected charities. For more information about our charities and how to support BARNSTOCK please see our "Get Involved" tab.
